FilmClub
The Filmclub has existed since 2018 and is a monthly meeting in Grand Theatre, intended to share knowledge and to strengthen the network in the field of film in Groningen. Each Filmclub evening has a theme, with a varying number of guests linked to it. In an informal setting, these guests are questioned about their profession by the presenter and the visitors.
Some of the themes included sound design, script writing, creative financing, acting and animation. In addition, directors or makers such as Ismaël Lotz, Sacha Polak and Willem Baptist are invited to come and talk about their work. Once a year we talk about the state of affairs around film in Groningen and irregularly we plan a screening of the work of Northern filmmakers in Grand Theatre or elsewhere.
During the film festivals in the North, FilmClubs Specials are held.
