Governance Code Culture
The Governance Code for Culture provides guidelines for good, responsible, and transparent management of and by cultural organizations, as well as guidance on supervision. Being conscious of governance is essential for strengthening cultural organizations and maintaining a healthy sector. For example, it ensures that roles within your organization are clear and that there is no (appearance of) conflict of interest or favoritism.
The Film Association Groningen applies the Governance Code for Culture — Board-Management model.
FVG, as the board, is responsible for the preparation, adoption, and execution of policy. We strive to appoint a management team as soon as financial resources allow, in order to further professionalize the association.
In applying the principles and following the recommendations, we have therefore only assumed a board structure:
-
The board itself performs executive tasks.
-
The board is assisted by committees and project teams consisting of members who perform tasks on a voluntary basis.
Application of the code by FVG
The Film Association Groningen has drafted a concept "Apply and Explain" document that will be presented to the members for approval during the spring general meeting. Below is a link to the draft version.
